ലോക പരിസ്ഥിതി പരിസ്ഥിതി ദിനത്തിൽ, ഏക പെഡ് മാ കേ നാം ഉദ്യമത്തെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഡൽഹിയിലെ ഭഗവാൻ മഹാവീർ വനസ്ഥലി പാർക്കിൽ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച പരിപാടിയിൽ പങ്കെടുത്ത പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി വൃക്ഷത്തൈ നട്ടു.

ആരവല്ലി ഗ്രീൻ വാൾ പദ്ധതിക്ക് കീഴിൽ ആരവല്ലി പർവതനിരകളുടെ വനവൽക്കരണത്തിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യം പരിപാടിയിൽ ശ്രീ മോദി എടുത്തുപറഞ്ഞു.

ഭൂമിയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കമുള്ള പർവതനിരകളിൽ ഒന്നായ ആരവല്ലി, ഗുജറാത്ത്, രാജസ്ഥാൻ, ഹരിയാന, ഡൽഹി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലായി വ്യാപിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്നു. ഈ മേഖല നിരവധി പാരിസ്ഥിതിക വെല്ലുവിളികൾ നേരിടുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും അവ പരിഹരിക്കാൻ ഗവണ്മെന്റ്  പ്രതിജ്ഞാബദ്ധമാണെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി.

ആരവല്ലി മലനിരകൾക്കും അതിനുമപ്പുറത്തും, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് സ്ഥലപരിമിതിയുള്ള നഗരങ്ങളിലും അർദ്ധ നഗരപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും പരമ്പരാഗത നടീൽ രീതികൾക്ക് പുറമേ, പുതിയ സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യകൾ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് ശ്രീ മോദി പറഞ്ഞു. നടീൽ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ  ജിയോ-ടാഗ് ചെയ്യുകയും മേരി ലൈഫ് (Meri LiFE) പോർട്ടലിൽ നിരീക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു.

രാജ്യത്തെ യുവാക്കളോട് ഈ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ സജീവമായി പങ്കെടുക്കാനും ഭൂമിയുടെ പച്ചപ്പ് വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് സംഭാവന നൽകാനും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി അഭ്യർത്ഥിച്ചു.
