ആനക്കാംപൊയിൽ -കള്ളാടി-മേപ്പാടി തുരങ്കപാതയുടെ നിർമ്മാണപ്രവർത്തികൾ ആഗസ്റ്റ് 31 ന് തുടങ്ങുമെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയൻ.

പാരിസ്ഥിതിക അനുമതി ലഭിച്ചതിനെ തുടർന്നാണ് നിർമ്മാണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. കിഫ്ബി പദ്ധതിയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി നിർമ്മിക്കുന്ന തുരങ്കപാതയുടെ നിർമാണച്ചെലവ് 2134.5 കോടി രൂപയാണ്. 8.73 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരം വരുന്ന പാതയുടെ 8.1 കിലോമീറ്റർ ഇരട്ട ടണൽ ആയാണ് വിഭാവനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതെന്നും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി വാർത്താസമ്മേളനത്തിൽ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

കൊങ്കൺ റെയിൽവേ കോർപ്പറേഷൻ ലിമിറ്റഡാണ് പാതയുടെ നിർവ്വഹണ ഏജൻസി. കോഴിക്കോട്, വയനാട് ജില്ലകളിലായി 33 ഹെക്ടറോളം  ഭൂമി ആണ് ഇതിനായി ഏറ്റെടുക്കേണ്ടത്. ഇതിൽ വനഭൂമി നേരത്തേ കൈമാറിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ  90 ശതമാനം സ്വകാര്യ ഭൂമിയും ഏറ്റെടുത്തു കഴിഞ്ഞു.  ടണൽ റോഡിലേക്കുള്ള പ്രധാന പാതയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. രണ്ട് പാക്കേജുകളിലായാണ് നിർമ്മാണം പൂർത്തീകരിക്കുക. പാലവും അപ്രോച്ച് റോഡും ഒന്നാമത്തെ പാക്കേജിലും ടണൽപാത നിർമ്മാണം രണ്ടാമത്തെ പാക്കേജിലമാണ് ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളത്.
