കോട്ടയം: മുണ്ടക്കയത്ത് വൈദ്യുതി ലൈനിലേക്ക് വീണ മരംമുറിക്കുന്നതിനിടെ പോസ്റ്റ് ഒടിഞ്ഞുവീണ് ഫയർഫോഴ്സ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനു ദാരുണാന്ത്യം. കാഞ്ഞിരപ്പള്ളി ഫയർഫോഴ്സ് ഓഫീസിലെ ഹോം ഗാർഡായ മുണ്ടക്കയം കരിനിലം സ്വദേശി കല്ലുകുന്നേൽ കെ.എസ്. സുരേഷാണ് മരിച്ചത്.
രാവിലെ 11 ഓടെ മുണ്ടക്കയം അസംബനിയിലായിരുന്നു സംഭവം. വൈദ്യുതി ലൈനിലേക്കു ചാഞ്ഞുകിടന്ന മരം മുറിച്ചുമാറ്റുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് അപകടം. വൈദ്യുതി പോസ്റ്റ് ഒടിഞ്ഞ് സുരേഷിന്റെ ദേഹത്തേക്കാണ് പതിച്ചത്. ഓടി മാറാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചെങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു രക്ഷപെടാനായില്ല.
വാരിയെല്ലുകള് തകര്ന്ന് ഗുരുതരമായി പരിക്കേറ്റ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ മുണ്ടക്കയത്തെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയില് എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും മരണം സംഭവിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
