തിരുവല്ല : ജല വിതരണവകുപ്പിന്റെ തിരുവല്ലയിലെ പമ്പ് ഹൗസിൽ വൻ തീപിടിത്തം. പമ്പ് ഹൗസിലേക്കുള്ള കേബിളുകൾ കത്തി നശിച്ചു. ട്രാൻസ്ഫോമറിനും തകരാർ സംഭവിച്ചു. രാവിലെ 6 മണിയോടെയാണ് സംഭവം.
കല്ലിശ്ശേരി, കറ്റോട് പമ്പ് ഹൗസുകളിൽ നിന്ന് എത്തിക്കുന്ന വെള്ളം ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചശേഷം വിവിധ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്ക് വിതരണം ചെയ്യുന്ന സംഭരണിയിലേക്ക് പമ്പു ചെയ്തു കയറ്റുന്ന പമ്പ് ഹൗസിലെ കേബിളുകൾക്കാണ് തീപിടിച്ചത്. തീ ആളിപ്പടർന്നതിന് പിന്നാലെ വലിയ ശബ്ദത്തോടെ പൊട്ടിത്തെറി ഉണ്ടാവുകയും സമീപത്താകെ പുക പടരുകയും ആയിരുന്നു.ഈ സമയം രണ്ട് ഓപറേറ്റർമാരും രണ്ട് അസിസ്റ്റന്റുമാരുമാണ് ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ഇവർ ഓടി പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയതിനാൽ അപകടം സംഭവിച്ചില്ല. തുടർന്ന് തിരുവല്ലയിൽ നിന്നും അഗ്നി രക്ഷാസേന എത്തി തീ അണച്ചു.
സംഭവത്തെ തുടർന്ന് തിരുവല്ല, ചങ്ങനാശേരി നഗരസഭകളിലും കോട്ടയം, ആലപ്പുഴ, പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലകളിലെ 11 പഞ്ചായത്തുകളിലും ജലവിതരണം മുടങ്ങി. ട്രാൻസ്ഫോമറിനു തകരാർ സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ എന്നത് പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം മാത്രമേ വ്യക്തമാകൂ എന്ന് അധികൃതർ പറഞ്ഞു. ജലവിതരണം പൂർണമായും പുനഃസ്ഥാപിക്കാൻ ഒരാഴ്ചയെങ്കിലും വേണ്ടിവരും എന്നാണ് അധികൃതർ പറയുന്നത്.
