ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട മലയോര മേഖലകളിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന ആദിവാസി കുടുബങ്ങൾക്ക് അവർക്ക് അർഹതപ്പെട്ട റേഷൻ സാധനങ്ങൾ, ചൂഷണത്തിന് വിധേയമാകാതെ, അവരുടെ താമസസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ നേരിട്ട് എത്തിക്കുന്നതിനായി സംസ്ഥാന ഭക്ഷ്യ-പൊതുവിതരണ വകുപ്പ് നടപ്പാക്കി വരുന്ന ‘സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന റേഷൻകട’ പദ്ധതി വിശപ്പുരഹിത കേരളം എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലേക്കുളള വലിയ ചുവടുവെപ്പായി മാറുന്നു. 2017ൽ ആരംഭിച്ച പദ്ധതി 2025ൽ എട്ടാം വർഷത്തിലെത്തിനിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ 10 ജില്ലകളിലായി 21 താലൂക്കുകളിലെ 142 ആദിവാസി ഉന്നതികളിൽ വിജയകരമായി നടപ്പാക്കപ്പെട്ട് ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട മലയോര മേഖലകളിലെ ആദിവാസി കുടുംബങ്ങൾക്ക്   ഭക്ഷ്യഭദ്രത ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നു.

2017ൽ തൃശ്ശൂർ ജില്ലയിലാണ് ‘സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന റേഷൻകട’ പദ്ധതിക്ക് തുടക്കമായത്. ഇന്ന് തൃശൂർ, തിരുവനന്തപുരം, പത്തനംതിട്ട, ഇടുക്കി, എറണാകുളം, മലപ്പുറം, പാലക്കാട്, കോഴിക്കോട്, കണ്ണൂർ, വയനാട് എന്നീ ജില്ലകളിൽ വിജയകരമായി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നു.

എല്ലാ മാസവും മുടക്കം കൂടാതെ സമീപ റേഷൻ കടകളിൽ നിന്ന് അരി, ഗോതമ്പ്, മണ്ണെണ്ണ, പഞ്ചസാര തുടങ്ങിയ റേഷൻ സാധനങ്ങൾ ശേഖരിച്ച് ആദിവാസി ഊരുകളിലെ നിശ്ചിത കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ എത്തിക്കുന്നു. പ്രതികൂല കാലാവസ്ഥയിലും വനമേഖലകളിലെ അപകടസാധ്യതകൾക്കിടയിലും ജീവനക്കാർ പരാതികൾക്ക് ഇടനൽകാതെ കാര്യക്ഷമമായി റേഷൻ സാധനങ്ങളുടെ വിതരണമുറപ്പാക്കുന്നു.
