ഹരിതകേരളം മിഷന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് ഒരു കോടി വൃക്ഷത്തൈകൾ നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു തൈ നടാം ജനകീയ വൃക്ഷവൽക്കരണ ക്യാമ്പയിന് ലോക പരിസ്ഥിതി ദിനമായ ജൂൺ 5 ന് തുടക്കം കുറിക്കും. പരിപാടിയുടെ സംസ്ഥാനതല ഉദ്ഘാടനം തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ഔദ്യോഗിക വസതിയായ ക്ലിഫ് ഹൗസ് അങ്കണത്തിൽ വൃക്ഷത്തൈ നട്ട് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയൻ നിർവഹിക്കും. വൈകുന്നേരം 3.30 ന് നടക്കുന്ന ചടങ്ങിൽ നവകേരളം കർമപദ്ധതി സംസ്ഥാന കോർഡിനേറ്ററും ഹരിതകേരളം മിഷൻ വൈസ് ചെയർപേഴ്‌സണുമായ ഡോ. ടി.എൻ. സീമ, ജനപ്രതിനിധികൾ, ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ തുടങ്ങിയവർ പങ്കെടുക്കും.

ഹരിതകേരളം മിഷൻ 2019 മുതൽ നടപ്പിലാക്കി വരുന്ന പച്ചത്തുരുത്ത് പദ്ധതിയെ കൂടുതൽ ഇടങ്ങളിലേക്ക് വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനോടൊപ്പം സമഗ്ര വൃക്ഷവൽക്കരണ പ്രവർത്തനവും ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ട് സെപ്റ്റംബർ 30 വരെയാണ് ഒരു തൈ നടാം ക്യാമ്പയിൻ. അപൂർവവും വംശനാശഭീഷണി നേരിടുന്നതുമായ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ തൈകൾ നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിൽ ക്യാമ്പയിൻ പ്രത്യേകം ശ്രദ്ധ നൽകും. ജൂൺ 05 ന് ക്ലിഫ് ഹൗസിൽ നടുന്ന  വൃക്ഷത്തൈകളായ കുളമാവ്, ആറുപുന്ന, ഉണ്ടപൈൻ, കമ്പകം, പൊന്നുഞാവൽ എന്നിവ ഈ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നവയാണ്. വിവിധ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ജില്ലാതല പരിപാടിയിൽ മന്ത്രിമാർ, എം.എൽ.എ.മാർ, എം.പി.മാർ, സാമൂഹ്യ സാംസ്‌കാരിക രംഗത്തെ പ്രമുഖർ, ജനപ്രതിനിധികൾ തുടങ്ങിയവർ പങ്കെടുക്കും.

വിദ്യാർഥികൾ, കുടുംബശ്രീ പ്രവർത്തകർ, തൊഴിലുറപ്പ് തൊഴിലാളികൾ, ഹരിതകർമ്മസേനാംഗങ്ങൾ, ജീവനക്കാർ, റസിഡന്റ്‌സ് അസോസിയേഷനുകൾ, ആരാധനാലയങ്ങൾ, വായനശാലകൾ, സാമൂഹ്യ രാഷ്ടീയ സംഘടനകൾ തുടങ്ങി സമസ്ത ജനവിഭാഗങ്ങളെയും പങ്കെടുപ്പിച്ചാണ് ക്യാമ്പയിൻ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള തൈകൾ പ്രാദേശികമായി ശേഖരിക്കും. വിവിധ വകുപ്പുകൾ, സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾ, സന്നദ്ധ സംഘടനകൾ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും ശേഖരിക്കുന്ന തൈകൾക്കു പുറമേ ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്തുകൾ വഴി പൊതു ജനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും ജനകീയമായും തൈകൾ ശേഖരിക്കും. കൂടാതെ സ്‌കൂൾ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ ശേഖരിക്കുന്ന തൈകൾ ‘ചങ്ങാതിക്കൊരു തൈ’ ക്യാമ്പയിനിലൂടെ ശേഖരിക്കും.
