കോട്ടയം: ലിറ്ററിന് ഒരു രൂപ നിരക്കിൽ കുടിവെള്ളം ലഭ്യമാക്കുന്നതിനായി വാട്ടർ എ.ടി.എം. സജ്ജമാക്കി വാഴൂർ ബ്ലോക്ക് പഞ്ചായത്ത്. ബ്ലോക്ക് പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റ 2024-25 വാർഷിക പദ്ധതിയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി ആറുലക്ഷം രൂപ ചെലവിട്ടാണ് മൂന്ന് വാട്ടർ എ.ടി.എം. സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. കാഞ്ഞിരപ്പള്ളി ജനറൽ ആശുപത്രി, കറുകച്ചാലിലെയും ഇടയിരിക്കപ്പുഴയിലെയും കുടുംബാരോഗ്യകേന്ദ്രങ്ങൾ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലാണ് എ.ടി.എം. സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്.
ഒരു രൂപ നാണയമിട്ട്് സ്വിച്ച് അമർത്തുന്നതനുസരിച്ച് ഒരുലിറ്റർ പച്ചവെള്ളമോ തണുത്ത വെള്ളമോ ചൂടുവെള്ളമോ ലഭിക്കും. അഞ്ചുരൂപ നിക്ഷേപിച്ചാൽ അഞ്ചുലിറ്റർ കുടിവെള്ളം ലഭിക്കും. ആർ.ഒ.പ്ലസ്.യു.വി. ഫിൽറ്റർ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന വെള്ളമാണ് നൽകുന്നത്. യു.പി.ഐ. പേമെന്റ് ,ക്യൂ.ആർ. കോഡ് വഴിയും പണമടയ്ക്കാം. 150 ലിറ്റർ കപ്പാസിറ്റിയുള്ള വാട്ടർ എ.ടി.എം. ആണ് ഓരോ ആശുപത്രിയിലും സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്. ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തുന്ന പൊതുജനങ്ങൾക്ക് കുറഞ്ഞ നിരക്കിൽ ശുദ്ധജലം ലഭിക്കുന്നതിനാണ് വാഴൂർ ബ്ലോക്ക് പഞ്ചായത്ത് പദ്ധതി ആവിഷ്‌കരിച്ച് നടപ്പിലാക്കിയത്.
ജില്ലയിൽ ആദ്യമായാണ് ആശുപത്രികളിൽ ഒരു ബ്ലോക്ക് പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ വാട്ടർ എ.ടി.എം. സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് വാഴൂർ ബ്ലോക്ക് പഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡന്റ് മുകേഷ് കെ. മണി പറഞ്ഞു.
